27th February - Erwinville, LA
"My mama ran into Mr. Gene yesterday on HWY 190 west of Baton Rouge. After learning that he had met with a friend of ours, Mr. Red, who had offered to put his horses up for the night she invited Mr. Gene to stay here at my place. So, I come in from a long day at work, head out to my barn to feed only to be intercepted by mama telling me to go pick this man up at Mr. Red's because he needs a place to sleep for the night. Let me mention here that my husband was working out of town - so I was home alone. But knowing mama like I do, I figured I should go ahead and do what she said. When I arrived at Mr. Red's and met Mr. Gene I was immediately at ease. He is a quite, gentle man with wonderful stories to tell. I advise anyone along his route who can take him and his horses in for the night to do so. You will receive a blessing from it. Our prayers are with Mr. Gene, Frank and George as they travel along."

10th March - Singer, LA
"Just wanted to let everyone know that Gene was recently in Singer, La on March 10. He stayed with Arthur Eddleman and left March 11 headed for Texas on highway 190. We really enjoyed his visit and felt blessed to be in his presence and hear about all of his experiences. We hope he is still doing well and God bless him and his horses."

15th March - Singer, LA
"My name is Alda Clark. I live at Singer, LA, Wednesday night the 10th of March Gene spent the night with my brother, Dood Eddleman. Dood was excited about him stopping to spend the night. My brother is a cowboy from way back so he was thrilled to have him stay. I met him Thursday morning just before he left. I took some pictures and wrote a little article about him. He was headed to Merryville and then on to Bon Weir, Texas. He must have changed his route because his site says he was going from Ragley to Starks. He must have decided to stay in Beauregard Parish until he got to Texas line. Would love to keep up with his story. He is a fine man and I pray that God will continue to bless him."
