"Gene arrived in Albion, shortly after noon on Friday. Welcomed to the rural home of John and Melba Moorhouse. After refreshing up Gene visited with a local newspaper reporter. With John having draft horses allot of stories were told. With Gene running ahead of schedule John invited him to stay with them for the weekend. Gene took them up on the deal. After Melba cooking a hot home cooked meal, several of the Moorhouse grandchildren came to see and visit with him. Everyone enjoyed the weekend with him. Monday morning three of the grandkids went to see him off. This will be something we will talk about for a long time. John made arrangements with people that he knows in the next several towns down his journey. May god be with you for a safe journey! God Bless"

"Oct 31,2005 Mason MI Gene arrives at 3:30 pm takes a nap in my lawn chair until I get home from work at 5:30, he put the boys in the pasture so they probably napped too. We had dumplings for supper and a lot of great conversation. Nov 1 Gene rides 17 miles in by our capital Lansing, Mi we trailered him back to my house that night because it's a little hard to sleep four horses and Gene in the city. Gene then attends our MI Horse Council meeting to get to tell his tales to lots of folks that night. I trailered Gene back to where he left off the day before and my daughter and I rode with him to our capital what fun. Then he rides out of town to his next home. Thank you Gene for letting my daughters and I be a part of your legend, God speed my friend. "

Hello Gene,
 Mike and Laura Overmyer from Springport Michigan here. Just wanting to say hello and hope and pray you are doing well. Congratulations on completing your journey !
