"I have just found out about your trek from my brother, Steve Nations, who boarded George & Frank while you were in Jackson, MS. I fear that your visit got lost in the hustle and bustle of the Dixie National Rodeo. I was totally unaware that you were in town, much less just across my pasture at my brother's barn! Mississippi is known as the hospitality state. I hope you were shown lots of hospitality while here. I just wish more people could have been aware of your visit. I asked my brother if you got to meet with the governor and he was not sure. I hope you did. I and my family wish you well on your continued trip and are sorry that we did not get to meet you. We will continue to follow your progress on the website. May God continue to be with you and keep you safe throughout the remainder of your trip."

"I rode with Mr. Gene on the East Mississippi Wagon Train. We rode from Chunky to Jackson, MS. The date was Feb.6,2004 to Feb.14,2004. Mr. Gene is a very nice and informative man. I enjoyed riding and talking with him. I have a lot of respect for him, what he is doing and what he has done is a real accomplishment and one he should be proud of. He has my prayers and best wishes. Happy Trails Mr. Gene."

" We had the pleasure of meeting and riding with Mr. Gene on the east ride of the Dixie national wagon train in February, 2004. We left Mr. Adrian Johnson's farm in Chunky, MS and rode to Jackson, MS. It was indeed a joy and blessing to make this journey with Mr. Gene. He should be an inspiration for all of us to use what we know and/or enjoy to benefit others. Mr. Gene, I hope the rest of your journey is safe and bountiful."
