18th October - Lodgepole, Nebraska
"Hello Long Riders! I just wanted to forward a photograph I took of Gene Glasscock here in Lodgepole, Nebraska. It's a small town about 75 miles east of the Wyoming border. Gene spent the night here, in the New Hope Fellowship Church. His horses, George and Frank, stayed across the alley in an old fenced yard. Everyone was doing well."

21st October - Alda, Nebraska
"Just wanted to know that I had the privilege to meet Gene Glasscock this morning. He stopped in the Alda, Nebraska Post Office on his way to the State Capital, Lincoln. What an inspiration and what a truly remarkable man! I applaud The Long Riders' Guild, and the explorations that most of us (ME!) dream about, but are too chicken to try. If you should talk to Mr. Glasscock, please wish him well and Godspeed on his journey."

22nd October - Kearny, Nebraska
"Just wanted to let you know Gene stayed with us here in Kearny, Nebraska. He is the epitome of a true gentleman. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Gene to make a person take a step back & enjoy your life to the maximum & not let everything go by without reflection. Please pass word to Gene how much my wife and I enjoyed him touching our lives. We will be saying a prayer for his safe journey on his expedition."

4th November - Shelton, Nebraska
"Just read the article that showed Gene with the Governor of Nebraska. Tell him to keep up the great work! Next time you talk to Gene, tell him we are thinking about him and wishing him the best of success. Bet he's glad I talked him into buying some long underwear at Wal-Mart!"

Clark Plihal, "The Long Riders' Friend."

12th November - Lincoln, Nebraska
"My name is Eric Gregory and I work for the Lincoln Journal Star newspaper in Lincoln, Nebraska. I recently photographed Gene Glasscock as he made his way east from Seward towards Lincoln. Gene was cold, wet, and in need of a cup of hot coffee. I fixed that, and invited him to call me if he needed a place to stay. I am sorry to say that Gene spent the night with someone else he met along the way. I am sure my wife and I missed hearing some good stories. Gene asked me to send a copy of my photograph to The Long Riders' Guild website. Hope you can share it with others who are keeping tabs on Gene's travels."

5th December 2005
"Congratulations on completing your ride. I wish I could have been there to congratulate you in person. It was my pleasure meeting you when you came through Nebraska & stayed with us. I have followed your journey throughout this great country of ours and prayed that you & the boys completed the trip and you have! It is so nice to see that people from every state took time out of their life to help you complete the ride. Best wishes to you Gene! "
